Finding affordable legal help in New York can be confusing and overwhelming. If you live in one of the five boroughs of New York City and need help with brief legal services or the matters addressed by our core projects, you’re in the right place.

A free Legal Hotline staffed by attorneys who assist callers of limited income on a range of civil legal issues.

Hours:
• Monday – Thursday 9:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m
• Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Closed 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily

 

 

The Vital Records Project provides free pro se assistance with issues related to birth and death certificates to low income New Yorkers in the five boroughs.

Civil Court Project, in collaboration with the Office of Court Administration’s Access to Justice Program, offers free online and phone consultations to pro se litigants.

An online application for assistance with a consumer issue, such as debt collection, frozen bank accounts, applying for bankruptcy, or other consumer-related issues.
