PRO BONO HEROES

Arthur M. Dresner, Duane Morris LLP

Arthur Dresner, Of Counsel at Duane Morris, LLP, is a long-time pro bono volunteer with the Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project (NELP). His practice at the firm focuses on intellectual property litigation and he has extended his IP expertise in working with emerging companies and startups to work with low- to moderate-income micro entrepreneurs through NELP.

Art has assisted an up and coming NYC fashion designer to obtain trademark protections for his brand, which has taken off recently as a result of the designer’s being a finalist in the LVMH Young Fashion Designers competition.  Art is also assisting an entrepreneur who is working on starting a unique, web-based service that aims to add a human dimension to information on the Internet.  While Art initially agreed to provide intellectual property advice to this entrepreneur, his representation has since grown to include his working on corporate formation, agreements with outside vendors and patent filings.

Art has made it possible for these entrepreneurs and others to obtain the legal services necessary to get their businesses started on sound legal footing and in particular to protect their intellectual property rights upon which their businesses are founded. For his dedication to assisting low-to moderate-income micro entrepreneurs through NELP, the City Bar Justice Center recognized Arthur M. Dresner with a 2016 Jeremy Epstein Award for Pro Bono Excellence.
